 I have taught at OCC for 4.5 years and served on the Coast CCA Board as a Vice President for 2.5 years. During this time, I have communicated well with PTers at OCC and worked hard to better our organization for all the Colleges. I completed CCA’s year-long Building Strong Locals Leadership Academy and have received continuous training to prepare me to lead as President. I have also established relationships District-wide with faculty, administration and Board of Trustees members that will increase the strength of our local chapter.

My vision for Coast CCA involves improved connection with our members via interactive communication, additional on-campus involvement with members and more transparent processes, open to all members, to strengthen Coast CCA’s voice and better the benefits provided to our members.  Vote Rick Boone for President.

I have been a math instructor at GWC for two years.  During that time I also served on the Coast CCA Board, first as Campus Representative for the Coastline Costa Mesa Center, then as the VP representing GWC.   I have attended many union conferences and had discussions with our state union representatives, through which I have learned how the union works and how our local should be operated.

I firmly believe Coast CCA exists to serve the part-time instructor community.  I have been active in informing our members about their rights and benefits and helping to fight for both.  I believe we will benefit from a higher level of participation and communication with our fellow instructors.  I hope you will share your priorities with the new board, whoever is elected.  Please re-elected John Dunham as Vice President representing Golden West College.

I am a part-time instructor at Coastline College and have been there since 1996 and have been an P.T. instructor since 1989. I have been on the Coast CCA board as a Campus Rep for over a year now and have attended CCA Conferences to learn how to better serve our members.

In addition to my teaching duties, I am an Actor, Voice Over Artist and Sports Announcer. As a S.A.G. & A.F.T.R.A. member I have experience being involved with high profile unions.  I know what needs to be accomplished in these organizations and what it takes to work together and move forward in our efforts to enlighten part-time faculty of our benefits and rights. I have taught English at OCC for a year and have loved it! In only a year, I have connected and collaborated with many of the part-time instructors in my department and I look forward to extending this dialogue to more of my colleagues across the campus. I believe that active communication is key to making part-time faculty aware of their rights and the opportunities available to them. Though I’m new to OCC, I’m passionate about the work that part-timers do and the valuable contribution that we make to the school and the experience of our students. I believe that my positive attitude and enthusiasm for helping my peers would be a valuable contribution to the culture of our local chapter and to the goal of improving part-timers’ experiences.

I have been at Orange Coast College since 2006 and, in addition to my part-time counseling duties, I also support the President’s Office as a classified employee. Some of the topics I teach include understanding personality differences, stress management, time management, and study skills. In addition to the counseling topics, I teach at Orange Coast College and at Back Bay High School for “Coastline’s Credits for College” program. I am a member of the Umoja Advisory Committee, the purpose of which is to provide an instructional community based on African values, the Re-Entry Advisory Committee, which addresses resources needed for students returning to school after a significant absence, and am a mentor to students in the Puente Program.  I am often available on campus and look forward to serving you.  Vote Carisa Montooth for Campus Rep, OCC.

Since Fall 2006, I am a Psychology Instructor at Coastline and enjoy teaching in the departments of Psychology (in-classroom), Military Education, Corporate Program, Distance Learning, and the Credits for College program, which provides college-credit courses at high school campuses here in Orange County.

I work in Fullerton, CA as a registered Marriage & Family Therapy Intern, providing individual, couple, and family counseling to the community. I have been working & educating in the field over the last nine years.
